Gentle 15 Minute Yoga for Tight Hips and Hamstrings

The hips and hamstrings are notoriously tight muscles of the lower body. This gentle yoga sequence intends to bring length into those areas, which also help release lower back tension.

Everybody is susceptible to tight hamstrings, from professional runners to office workers. People who spend long hours sitting at a desk or who have intense training schedules can benefit from a few proper hamstring stretches.

Benefits of stretching hips and hamstrings:

    • Decrease risk of injury – When these areas of our body are opened it decreases strain on other areas of your body, especially the back and knees.
    • Decrease aches and pain – Tight hamstrings are a common source of lower back pain.
    • Improves posture – Tight joints and hamstring muscles contributes to poor posture. Yoga stretches works wonders for improving flexibility and the strength of your postural muscles.
